Opps offers several QCF competency based qualifications in Hospitality, accredited by EDI including:

  • Level 2 Certificate in Cleaning Principles
  • Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Beverage Service
  • Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Food Production and Cooking
  • Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Food Service
  • Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Front of House Reception
  • Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Hospitality Services
  • Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Housekeeping
  • Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Professional Cookery
  • Level 3 Diploma in Hospitality Supervision and Leadership Skills

These competency based qualifications are NVQs consisting of mandatory and optional units. Two examples are:

Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Hospitality Services

  • Working Effectively as Part of a Hospitality Team
  • Maintain Cellars and Kegs
  • Prepare and Clear Areas for Table Service
  • Provide a Silver Service
  • Produce Basic Rice, Pulse and Grain Dishes
  • Set up and Close Kitchen
  • Maintain and Deal with Payments
  • Use of Different Chemicals and Equipment in Housekeeping

Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Hospitality Supervision and Leadership Skills

  • Supervise Housekeeping Services
  • Supervise Portering and Concierge Services
  • Supervise Off-Site Food Delivery Services
  • Supervise Linen Services
  • Monitor and Solve Customer Service Problems
  • Manage the Environmental Impact of your Work
  • Supervise Reservation and Booking Services

Candidates attend Opps workshops or one to one tutorials to build their portfolio and are provided with an experienced assessor and extensive learning materials to support their learning.

Opps is a recognised provider under the "Train to Gain" programme. Funding for QCF qualifications may be available under this programme.
